That's right ! Just a short 7 weeks and the "Just One More" will be back in the water. It has been a pretty tough winter down here in Highlands. Frozen river, partially frozen bay and 5' of snow in the back of the boat. But all the rods and reels continue to get cleaned, new drags are being installed, gears are being greased up and are getting ready to fight your striped bass. The boat is scheduled to go in right around April 1st. [no joke intended]. Last season we were already catching striped bass and flounder by the second week in April.
Prime dates to charter are starting to book up. I guess after all the Holidays behind us and all this terrible winter we have been experiencing, many are looking forward to getting out this spring. Whole weekends are already gone in May and June. Meaning: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are booked on those weekends. It may be best to reserve your date now to insure you get the day you want, especially if you wanted to book around the same date you had good striped bass fishing on last season.
This season, I have not raised the charter cost once again. I hope fuel does not go up to what they are predicting by the spring! A full day, 7am to 2pm for up to 4 anglers is still $500.00. A half day trip or what I call the evening trip is still $400.00 for the same amount of anglers. The 5th. and 6th. angler this season is an additional $75.00 per head. So if you plan on bringing a full compliment of six anglers it works out for a full day of only $108.00 per head.
OPEN BOAT TRIPS.... I will try and run an open boat trip at least once a week. You will be notified as early as possible with an email. If you have an angler friend or two and want to do an open boat trip on a specific date, call or email me with the date and I'll inform everyone to fill your trip. These usually work out well. Or if you don't have a specific date, I'll let you know what is available and you just pick one.
IT WON'T BE LONG NOW AND YOUR DRAG WILL BE SCREAMING UNDER THE PULL OF A LARGE STRIPED BASS! THANKYOU.
