Saturday we had aboard the yearly fishing crew from Driftwood Liquors and Bar in Highlands. We had Poogie, Gail, Pat, and Joe. We were fluke fishing in Sandy Hook Bay. A nice half day trip that produced a pile of fluke. "Irish Pat Quinn" had a 22" fluke on the first drift then topped that on the second drift with a 22.5" fluke. Two very nice fish. More were landed and caught and plenty more were released that were just under the 18" limit. It was a fun day with plenty of action and great tasting fillets. Attached you will see a photo of Pat with his 2 biggest keepers.
OPEN BOAT TRIP : The next open boat trip will be this Thursday, July 21. Full day Sandy Hook fluke fishing. We will be targeting the big doormats in the Ambrose and Sandy Hook channels. Mostly deep water fishing. 7am to 2pm. Everything included as usual. Fare is $100.00 per angler. Considering the fare on a party boat these days is $60.00 for a full day, that is not too bad. This Sunday, July 24 is available for a charter. It is also your CAPTAIN'S BIRTHDAY!! Who wants to fish with the Capt. on his birthday?? Rare opportunity!!
