Yesterday we had aboard the Jim Houston charter. We left the dock at 7 am and were limited out with large striped bass for six anglers by 9 am !!!! The largest striper went 36". We played catch and release for the rest of the trip and were throwing back keeper striped bass as well as shorts and bluefish for the remainder of the day. What a super trip with doubles on at times and other hits missed. The stripers were not commiting to the baits too well and were just lipping the clams. We lost many more that just spit the clam out. But even with that, we got a super fast full limit. Big smiles all around.

 Today we had aboard the Nicky Dissaro charter. What a super day. We basically had a steady bite the whole time. We landed a full limit of stripers for 5 anglers and filled some trophy tags. The smallest striper was around 30" and the second to last striper of the day was a monster!! Tom landed the brute, it was his largest bass ever, and earlier, he landed his first striper ever!! It measured a full 42" long and weighed a full 35 lbs. on the boat scale. What a super fish. What a super day! We also had bluefish and shorter bass we returned to fight another day. It doesen't get better than this!!

Today we had aboard the Ken Fields charter from northern N.J. We landed another full limit of striped bass for six anglers. We had a slow start with the end of the outgoing tide, but when the tide turned around to the incoming,[pay attention Anthony], it was non stop action. We limited out by 10 or 10:30 am. They landed a full limit up to Kenny Jr.'s 38" striper which weighed almost 25 lbs ! We were throwing back short bass and stripers up to a high of 35". A very large fish to throw back amongst all the others. It was a great trip with Kenny Sr. and Kenny Jr. who had fish on at the same time. We also had bite offs from bluefish and landed others. What a super day. Everyone said "thankyou" to aunt Wanda. This is the best early striped bass bite in recent history.

Yesterday, Monday the 18th. of May we had aboard the George Carola charter from Fed Ex. Included were Big Mike and Striper Bill. Another full limit of striped bass was landed on the "Just One More". We did two drops with the anchor and had striped bass and bluefish in each spot. Striper Bill had the first fish on in about five minutes and it was one of the largest of the day! It stretched to a length of 38". He burnt out his Garcia reel for the second time! I don't think it is worth getting it repaired again. It has a drag as smooth as a hand line! Not only did they have a full limit of stripers, but also filled out their trophy tags! We released more shorter bass and landed quite a few bluefish. They were up to about 8 lbs.! Super bass fishing right now should continue to the end of June or even into early July. What a super season so far for the striper fishery. Looking forward to fishing with you soon.
