Today we had aboard the Paul Platukis charter and the "Just One More" had another full limit of striped bass. No one on the boat had ever caught a striped bass before and some had never caught a salt water fish before. Well after this trip, they all did !! Paul was the pool winner with the largest bass of the day at 36" and a fat 18 lbs.!!  Congratulations Paul, on your first striper ever, and the largest of the day!! Plenty of shorts were released and we still have not landed that first bluefish yet. I should not mention that as the next trip will probably have plenty. Water temp. near the ocean was around 50 degrees and in the bay, on the way in , it jumped to 57.2 degrees. Stripers any one ??

 Yesterday, April 24, was the best day of the season so far for the 'Just One More' and her clients. We had aboard the Bill Stephens charter from New Century Transportation. Included were: Nicky Disario and his nine year old son Daniel, Ernie, and Tommy Birds. We clammed stripers in the bay. We landed a total of 32 striped bass to a high of 38". Nick's son Daniel caught the first and largest striper of the day at 38". It was the largest striper of his life. Congratulations Daniel!!  It was great fishing with double headers and action basically all day. The action slowed down a little during slack tide, but that did not last long. We also had one bluefish cut off at the boat. Most of the fish we threw back were keepers with not too many shorts mixed in. At the end of the day, everyone was all smiles, a limit in the box, high fives all around , and we left the striped bass biting !

The striped bass are in! Yesterday we had aboard, Todd, Ron, and Tommy. We started out looking for birds to jig fish some stripers, but that bite seems to be over. We set up clamming and wound up with another FULL LIMIT OF STRIPED BASS !! We threw back stripers that were just under size at 27 plus inches. We had a real good bite for around an hour and a half. Constant run offs and hits. No bluefish yet, but I have heard that they are here. The water is warming up and the striped bass fishing is only going to get better from here on. Time to go striper fishing and put some fillets on the grill!!
